This is my blog, this is my music. I play as 1/4 of Invisible and 4/4 of Workday/Schoolnight. Electronic Trash is my new solo album. For the first time I chose to limit myself only to electronics; small consumer casios & yamaha keyboards from the 80s, some drum machines, and various samples. I didn't know what to expect when I started recording—Well that's not entirely true, late last year I went on a binge of listening to a lot of New Wave/Post-Punk bands from the late 70s/early 80s (OMD, Ultravox, Human League, Devo, Buggles, League of Nations, Absolute Body Control etc). My goal was to make minimal synth songs in a similar style—which I did to a certain extent, but I wasn't really following any formula and this is not an 80s throwback album.
Electronic Trash is sparse on vocals, rich in voice samples, and full of layered sythesizers and effects. It's a little strange to try to write about my own album, so that's all I'm going to say.
